There are many misconceptions about laser tattoo removal. Why is this the case? Generally it is because people may not have a great understanding of the process and technology of laser tattoo removal. One of our goals at Remove a Tattoo is to educate the greater Milwaukee area about laser tattoo removal and hopefully set the record straight on some of these common misconceptions.
Tattoo Removal Causes Scarring
False. In general, laser tattoo removal will not leave a scar on your skin. The only instances that laser tattoo removal would cause a scar would be if the aftercare instructions weren’t followed, if you are prone to scarring, or if the skin was scarred during the application of the tattoo. The chances of scarring are very minimal if the laser technician is trained and the correct protocol is followed. Scarring can occur if the tattoo is picked at during the healing time. During the consultation, Dr. Brotzman will examine the tattoo for any existing scarring and thoroughly discuss aftercare instructions.
Tattoo Removal Sessions Take a Long Time
False. Getting a tattoo takes much longer than laser tattoo removal. The laser tattoo removal treatment is actually a very quick process that only takes a matter of minutes or even seconds depending on the size and colors in the tattoo. Tattoo removal does require multiple sessions spaced out over the course of one to two years, but the actual sessions themselves are very quick.
Tattoo Removal is Expensive
False. There are some costs associated with laser tattoo removal, but Remove a Tattoo offers very competitive, upfront pricing for the greater Milwaukee area. Our new pricing is $99 per session for tattoos that are 5X5 or smaller. If you have larger tattoos or are looking to remove multiple tattoos, Dr. Brotzman will discuss the affordable rates with you at the consultation. And remember, tattoo removal is done every 6-8 weeks, which allows you to build it into your budget accordingly.
