Black is the most common ink used in tattoos. Other colors such as red, yellow, green, orange and blue are also common. Many other colors exist, such as peach and white, along with custom color variations that are mixed by tattoo artists. Laser tattoo removal works by choosing a laser wavelength that will target a specific color of ink. One wavelength such as Nd:YAG 1064 will work great on black ink but not at all on red ink. So how do we know which wavelength to use? One easy way to look at it is that we choose a laser wavelength (or color) that is on the opposite end of the color spectrum. Ruby lasers are attracted to green, black and blue ink. The 532 Nd:YAG laser is attracted to red, brown, orange and yellow inks. The Nd:YAG 1064 is the workhorse of laser tattoo removal clinic: it takes care of the black and blue ink. The take home is that when it comes to lasers, one size does not fit all. We use the right laser for the job to give you excellent results. Want to have your tattoo removed? Give Remove A Tattoo laser tattoo removal clinic in Mequon, WI a call today at 414-617-2849.
